We lost our dear Kelly earlier this year and are deeply saddened by this loss. We continue our work to honor her wishes and make her dream a reality.
Kelly experienced, first hand, how limited the options are for a younger adult wanting to live independently but needing assistance with daily tasks. She wished for more choices. Kelly's Place is intended to fill a gap in today's assisted living industry. People ages 31-64 represent the fastest growing population in nursing homes today, according to the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. But most assisted living options are designed to serve the elderly.
Social interaction is critical to health and happiness regardless of age, income or disability and while Kelly loved living at Green Acres in Lowell, Michigan, she craved the company of people closer to her own age. Kelly's Place is meant to fit that niche.
